Re: Intersection of Haskell Ave and Roscoe Blvd

REQUEST FOR ACTION

The North Hills West Neighborhood Council requests that the LAPD Devonshire Division initiate an investigation into the criminal gang activity located at Haskell Avenue and Roscoe Blvd.

At our September 19, 2024 General Board Meeting the Neighborhood Council discussed and heard public comment on the safety concerns regarding the increase in criminal activity at this location and the lack of police response.   The area already has numerous vulnerable homeless persons living in tents in the vicinity, which is compounded by the addition of a street gang going by the moniker “Haskell 31.” It appears that this gang is working in coordination with some of the homeless to perpetrate crimes against businesses and residents.

The North Hills West Neighborhood Council requests that our Senior Lead Officer, Jerome Knopp coordinate with Devonshire Division Gangs and Narcotics Units to investigate this situation and report back to the North Hills West Neighborhood Council at our October 17, 2024 meeting.

Thank you,

NHWNC board
